I am an American living in Germany. Next month I will see (in Wiesbaden) the German version of Tena Stivicic’s Fireflies. My German is not great (to put it mildly) and I would very much like to read the English text of Fireflies and/or listen to the BBC radio production before “taking in” the German production. I would very much appreciate any advice or other assistance you might provide in this regard. Incidentally I would be happy to meet the cost of making and/or mailing photocopies or a CD or whatever. I have not been able to locate any publisher or agency that is selling the English text/playscript.

Hi John,
I will try to help you out by forwarding your request. After you see the production of Tena Stivicic’s Fireflies, why don’t you write us back and tell us what you thought of the play and the production? Thanks for your comment. Randy Ford

Randy,
Thanks for your support. I undertake to come up with some comments on the Wiesbaden production of Fireflies. (Presumably my comments will be somewhat more relevant and useful if I have an opportunity to read or hear Fireflies in English before I take on the German version.)
Incidentally this would certainly not be the first time I see a German production of a recent English (language) play that I have read in advance. Plays in that category include Stephens’ Christmas, Wade’s Colder than Here, Walsh’s New Electric Ballroom and Letts’ August: Osage County.
Regards,
John
