In ¡Viva! Tineo, filmmaker Angela Soto captures one morning in the life of artist David Tineo as he paints “Princesa de Mi Corazon.”
“I watched him take a blank canvas and, in front of my eyes, I saw him transform it into a woman with a story,” says Soto. “The pinks and blues come to life as her eyes unveil sadness.”
Tineo, 54, is struggling with the challenges of painting with macular degeneration. This 7-minute video shows how it doesn’t stop him from doing what he loves most, creating.
“I hope the audience gets the sense of how Tineo manifests himself in his work, ” adds Soto.
¡Viva! Tineo is scheduled to screen with Tineo’s Show at the Tucson Museum of Art in February.
