A New Short Play
by Jan Buttram, Artistic Director
(Inspired by Board Member Dave Tine)

JAN stands at the door. DAVE gives her a big hug.)
DAVE
The play was great on all counts. I was thinking how lucky we were to be seeing it in such an intimate space.
JAN
Abingdon couldn’t do it without your help.
DAVE
I know (sorta) how hard it is to keep things moving forward when resources are scarce, but seeing this play tonight reminds me of how appreciative we should be of your ability to forge ahead.
JAN
I love when a playwright can feel and see the actors breathe.
DAVE
I was also thinking, if Abingdon didn’t find this play, see its potential and then make it come alive, who would?
JAN
I don’t think about that part.
DAVE
I’m reminded that those of us who get to benefit from what you do (oh so well) need to do what we can to make sure you have the resources you need to do it.
JAN
Abingdon’s generous supporters are the reason we’re here.
DAVE
This production will be hard to forget. I look forward to seeing Abingdon’s next show.
