Odyssey Storytelling- Double O Story Slam on June 27, 2011

Odyssey Storytelling will be back in August

We tried something new, Tandem Tales, for July and not too many of you had stories to fit the theme so we’ve decided to cancel the show and put all our energies into the August show instead. The theme for August 4 is “The Things We Do For Love”, curated by Sarah K. Smith.

Double O Story Slam on June 27, 2011

You can come early and sign up to tell a 5-minute story or just come to listen and enjoy our first ever Story Slam. The theme, to be interpreted broadly of course, is “In Heat, Surviving the Summer.”
What is story slam? It’s a contest where people tell real stories from their lives. No costumes, no props, no notes, no music…just the STORY. There are a maximum of ten tellers. Each story is five minutes or less in length. Selected audience members will determine which storyteller gets the prize.
This is an all-ages show in a beautiful new venue. Check it out on Monday, June 27, 6:30 p.m. sign up; show starts at 7:15 p.m. at Fluxx Studios, 414 E. 9th Street. It’s free with a 5 dollar suggested donation at the door and refreshments will be available. See more on Facebook.
This new adventure is a collaboration between Odyssey Storytelling and Ocotillo Poetry Slam. Contact: Maya Asher, masherster@gmail.com, 480-390-1063 for more info.
