THE DAIRIES OF AVALON ROSE
by Sharon Hooper
This first in a series of diaries by Avalon Rose describes events that take place during the summer of 1877 at Highgate, an English country estate southeast of London. When Avalon takes up employment at the estate as a domestic, she disvovers that the staff is made up of unusually attractive men and women whose duties require more than just cleaning and cooking. While the manor gets dusted and the food gets cooked, the real work of the staff, as it turns out, is play.
At first, the beautiful young Avalon is shocked by what her employers require in the way of services, but soon joins in the fun without reservation. Having an open mind and a willing spirit, Avalon finds this new lifestyle to her liking and herself that center of attention.
While everyone at Highgate is greatly enamored with Avalon, the married owner of the adjacent estate falls deeply in love with her, and she with him. But theirs is a forbidden love. Even though her heart is breaking, Avalon knows she must leave Highgate to avoid being the cause of a broken marriage.
When Avalon receives an unexpected inhertance that includes a country cottage, far from her present residence, she has the means to live life on her own terms and follow her own dreams. But when Avalon arrives at her new home, she makes a shocking discovery: Along with finding her own mother’s diaries, she also discovers a sizeable collection of journals written by and handed down from mother to daugher over many generations. While that, in itself, strikes Avalon as unusual, it is the inscription on the cover of every journal that trule shocks her: “This is the Diary of Avalon Rose.”
THE DIARIES OF AVALON ROSE, by Sharon Hooper, takes Victorian erotica to new levels of literary expression through the use of humor, passion, attention to detail and feminine insights about love and sexuality. This highly sensual fire-in-a-series of books ia a must read for women of all ages…and a “Plaase read it to me” story for their loves.
AN EXCERPT FROM AVALON ROSE:
Not knowing quite what to do, she succumbed to my teasing and licked my finger. All eyes were upon us again. It seems that I was setting the pace for our very friendly diners…definitely much more relaxed now tha they had imbibed several bottles of champagne and were now halway through an equal number of wine bottles.
Much to my amusement, everyone started scooping up the gravy with their fingers and offering it to their nearest neighbor. It was quite a funny sight and I couldn’t, in any way, describe accurately what happened next. But across from me, a bejeweled Marie Antoinette was being kissed by a mysterious Roman soldier. Quite precarious, Marie leaned too far forward over her dish as the Roman soldier became quite amorous and refused to be pushed away by her half-willing hands.
Her veal dish was shoved forward with enough force to tip over a wine glass, which tipped over her water glass, which in turn, upset several more glasses. We all watched in amazement as the glasses fell, one by one. And then, this soldier totally lost himself in the throes of passion and practically ripped off Marie’s bodice.
The whole scene gave way to some kind of tacit permission for all the guest to start acting in very strange ways. Men were grabbing breasts, maskes were askew and women were fondling men. It was a literal frenzy of dining activity. But the funniest part occurred when one of the guest’s pair of small dogs jumped onto the table, barking furiously and eating from the plates as fast as their little tongues could gobble, and splashing gravy in all directions. I even saw one of them flick his tongue on a particularly prominet cleavage!
I don’t know how the head waiter managed to say, with a very straight face, “Now we will serve desert and then all can retire to the drawing room.”
