University of Arizona Poetry Center- Family Days This Saturday! & 2012 Summer Residencies

Family Days This Saturday!
Join VOICES, Inc., for a fun and interactive adventure using beautiful cyanotype photographs as our visual muse as we play with words to create poems in fast-paced time bursts. The cyanotypes, created by City High School students, are blue-toned photographs that are vibrant and haunting, clear and abstract—fertile ground for imaginative word play! Poetry writing workshops for youth ages 4-6, 7-10, and an infant sing-a-long class meet concurrently.

2012 Summer Residencies:
The Poetry Center awards two residencies each summer to one poet and one prose writer. The residency includes a $150 stipend/week and a two to four week stay in a studio apartment located within steps of the Poetry Center’s renowned library of contemporary poetry, during which the writers will develop his/her work. Writers at any stage of their careers may apply. The 2012 deadline is January 27.
