Our next ROUGH Reading is next week, and we’re thrilled to bring Michael Mitnick (recently at TheatreWorks with the wildly applauded musical Fly By Night) and his new play Spacebar: A Broadway Play by Kyle Sugarman to the bay area!

About the Playwright
Michael Mitnick’s recent works include FLY BY NIGHT By Night (premiered at TheatreWorks in Palo Alto, developed at Playwrights Horizons and Ars Nova); SEX LIVES OF OUR PARENTS(premiered at Second Stage Uptown, developed at The Kennedy Center, included in Best Scenes and Monologues pubdlished by Smith & Kraus 2011); BABS THE DODO (premiered by W.E.T. in Seattle); and ELIJAH (developed at MTC, The McCarter, and Chautauqua Theatre Festival). MFA in Playwriting from the Yale School of Drama. He is currently working on commissions from The Denver Center Theatre Company and The Manhattan Theatre Club.
About the Play
Kyle Sugarman is a 16-year-old on a mission; he has an utterly unproducible play with Broadway dreams and an adolescent imagination running rampant. Kyle embarks on a quest for understanding in this comedic drama about young ambition and the need to settle scores.
