CRIZMAC – April ARTiculations Free Lecture ELEPHANTS IN ART by Stevie and Gail Roberts

April ARTiculations Free Lecture at the CRIZMAC

ELEPHANTS IN ART

Tuesday, April 10, 2012

Join Stevie and local artist, Gail Roberts, for a
light-hearted look at this “heavy” topic…

Images of elephants have found expression in many two-and three-dimensional art forms across the globe. We will delve into the meaning of elephants as cultural symbols and have fun exploring the “elephant artists” that are producing their own work today. Another “elephant” event, worthy of celebration, is the fabulous new elephant enclosure at the Reid Park Zoo. As part of a fund raising project for the enclosure, local artist Gail Roberts created a handmade tile installation. Gail will show us her work and discuss some of the fascinating details of the project. Join Stevie and Gail at CRIZMAC as we celebrate the majestic image of the elephant in art.
