NWU READING AND OPEN MIC ON JUNE 18, 2012 featured reader Greg Evans
The next NWU reading and open mic will be on Monday, June 18, 2012 at 6:15 p.m. at Fronimo’s Greek Cafe in mid-town Tucson. This month the featured reader will be Greg Evans, who will be reading from his recently published “In Search of the Cyberking” (Prague: David & Shoel 2011), an absurdist, irreal tale revolving around computers. Greg, an NWU Tucson member, has had his translations from Czech appear in such journals as Kenyon Review and New England Review, while his fiction and essays have appeared in various American and Czech journals. He is also coeditor of the internet journal The Cafe Irreal.
The evening will start at 5:30 or so, for those who want to have dinner; the reading will start at 6:15. After the reading there will be an open mic (spoken word only). Fronimo’s Greek Cafe is at 3242 E. Speedway Blvd., which is on Speedway just past Country Club (heading east) and is located in a small strip mall next to the Walgreens. Parking is in the rear and can be accessed by exiting Speedway at the Walgreens and then proceeding to the mall.
