National Writers Union- Features Reading by David Chorlton & Open Mic Nov. 21, 2011

The next NWU reading and open mic will be on Monday, November 21, 2011 at 6:15 p.m. at Fronimo’s Greek Cafe at 3242 E Speedway Blvd in Tucson. This month the Phoenix-based poet David Chorlton, author of A NORMAL DAY AMAZES US (Kings Estate Press, 2003), THE POROUS DESERT (Future Cycle Press, 2007) and the recently published novel, THE TASTE OF FOG (Rain Mountain Press, 2011) will be the featured reader. Born in Austria, David grew up in Manchester, close to rain and the northern English industrial zone. In his early 20s he went to live in Vienna and from there enjoyed many trips around Europe to enjoy and paint its landscapes and towns before moving to Phoenix in 1978. In Arizona he has grown ever more fascinated by the desert and its wildlife.

The evening will start at 5:30 or so, for those who want to have dinner; the reading will start at 6:15. After the reading there will be an open mic (spoken word only). Fronimo’s Greek Cafe is on Speedway just past Country Club (heading east) in a small strip mall next to the Walgreens (Tucson). Parking is in the rear and can be accessed by exiting Speedway at the Walgreens and then proceeding to the mall.

Hope to see you there!
